Recently, the term “Aromatherapy” has been widely used, and aroma means “direction” and therapy means “treatment” and is generally used as “treatment and therapy using fragrance.” Essential oils used in aromatherapy are made of 100% natural aromatic oils extracted from herbs, flowers, leaves, fruits, resins, and roots, which are inhaled or infiltrated into the body to treat the body and mind. The term aromatherapy is said to have been first used by French chemist René Morris Gatposé in the early 20th century. One day, while experimenting with cosmetics, Gatpoje accidentally suffered a big burn on her hand, and in a hurry, she dipped her hand in lavender essential oil next to her. Surprisingly, however, it is said that the pain was relieved and the burned skin was completely healed. Afterwards, Gatpoge was interested in the effects of essential oils and continued his research, writing a book called “Aromatherapy” and publishing it in 1937, and was called “The Father of Aromatherapy.”
